AWS Cloud Engineer (U.S. Citizen)

NOTE: This is a full-time employment opportunity. The candidate MUST be a U.S. Citizen and complete/pass/ hold a Public Trust background investigation. This is a remote opportunity. 

Daily Responsibilities 

• Responsible for leading the design, development, building, and supporting advanced cloud automation workflows and tools used to support automated CI/CD pipeline application deployments into AWS Cloud.
• Responsible for designing and implementing Enterprise-wide layered cloud image management and deployment optimization system with support for public/private software repositories.
• Design entire application environments that can be fully automated or replicated including network, compute, and data stores.
• Design, develop, and deploy enterprise automation systems and capabilities.
• Develop tools and processes to enable automated deployment and monitoring of cloud infrastructure and applications.
• Automate images, systems/network configuration and orchestration using tools such as Cloud Formation, Terraform, Ansible, etc.
• Identify and define technical requirements to build new AWS based application as well as migrate on-prem applications to the cloud leveraging cloud native services.
• Work directly with customers to evaluate and onboard new cloud application requirements and make architectural recommendations for implementation, deployment, and provisioning in AWS.
• Work with and mentor a team of highly skilled cloud engineers in building a state-of-the-art cloud environment that has the ability to scale and grow.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen (As mandated by our government client).
• Must complete/pass/hold a Public Trust background investigation.
• Must be certified in at least one or more principles, i.e. AWS Solution Architect, DevOps, Terraform, etc.
• 7 years of hands-on experience designing cloud architecture and deploying cloud capabilities on AWS in an enterprise on-prem data center environment.
• 7 years of hands-on experience delivering solutions running in automated cloud infrastructure.
• Experience in a client-facing environment and interacting with technical and business stakeholders.
• Experience designing, deploying, and supporting production cloud environments, particularly multi-region/multi-AZ environments.
• Skilled in the use of Terraform for automation and deployment.
• Experience using Ansible for automation.
• Experience working with software defined networking, storage systems architecture, virtualization, containers, and serverless technologies.
• Experience with continuous monitoring and logging of all applications layers and all infrastructure.
• Experience with container frameworks used to run microservices or data processing workloads with tools such as Docker, ECS, EKS, and Micro Services
• Experience deploying and provisioning in a production environment AWS resources including IaaS: EC2, S3, RDS, EBS, ELB, IAM, Security Groups, VPC, Route 53, Subnets, Routing Tables, and Internet Gateways, as well as certificates and autoscaling groups / PaaS services: EKS, ECS, ECR, Lambda, Code commit, code pipeline, and other SaaS services.
• Experience architecting highly available systems that utilize load balancing, horizontal scalability, and high availability.
• Programming Interfaces (APIs), CloudFormation (CF) & Terraform templates, Windows & Linux environments, and the AWS Billing & Management Consoles.
• Scripting Skills using Python and Bash.
• Experience configuring and deploying multiple SaaS services.
• Subject matter expert (SME) in deploying and configuring AWS services using Terraform, Ansible and automation.
• Must have familiarity with AWS Command Line Interface (CLI) and Cloud management services.
• Experience with DevOps.
• Excellent oral and written communication, presentation and meeting facilitation, and negotiation skills. Excellent analytical skills. 
• Ability to prioritize well, to rearrange work priorities and schedules to accommodate sudden major changes, problems, or setbacks. Ability to develop new methods in situations in which established procedures are unavailable or inapplicable.
• BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Information Sciences, or related IT discipline. Additional ten (10) years of related professional experience can be substituted for a BS/BA degree.
